Without even applying through the consulate, the gate visa application allows you to enter the Greek islands via the ferry company you will be traveling with.

Required documents:

  • Visa Application Form (Download Application Form)
  • Copy of identity card
  • Photocopy of previous entry stamp to Greece (Optional)
  • Photocopy of the passaport
  • 2 Biometric Photographs
  • Bank Statement (A balance of at least €450 per person is required)
  • Ferry Ticket

Application Process and Fees:

  • The company must apply for the applications to passport control at least 48 hours prior. Thus, passengers must hand over their documents at least 4-5 days before.
  • Application fees have not been finalized yet.
  • Documents must be signed with wet signature.
  • The visa fee must be sent at the gate in cash in euros along with the documents.
  • Gate visa application is valid for single entry.

Other Considerations:

  • Shipping costs should be covered by the sender. Reversed charged shipments are not accepted.
  • The visa fee paid will not be refunded in case the visa documents are not accepted by the Greek Police, or if you cancel your ticket after submitting the documents or miss the ship.

Documents Required for Greece Gate Visa:

  • The application form will be filled in digitally and in capital letters.
  • For Kos island applications, it will not be signed by the applicant. The signature will be in front of a Greek police officer upon arrival. It will be signed for other islands.
  • Photocopy of the first page of your passport
  • 3 Biometric photographs
  • Photocopy of front and back of ID Card (ID card)
  • A round-trip ferry ticket belonging to our company cannot have a specific return date. (Tickets belonging to another company cannot be accepted)
  • Hotel reservation (with confirmation) must be calculated as the number of days to stay (7 nights hotel reservation corresponds to 8 days and is not accepted)
  • Travel insurance (English) It must be covered for the duration of stay
  • Participants in conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by local municipal authorities must have a photocopy of an invitation from the relevant municipality in their application file.

NOTE: *Unaccompanied minors must present an official document signed by both parents and translated into English.

Points to be taken into consideration when filling out the application form:

  • The application form must be filled with computer and in capital letters.
  • The validity period of the passport must be at least 6 months. Also, there should be no TRNC and Macedonia entry stamps on the passport. Additionally, similar to the Schengen visa, a blank visa space of at least 2 facing pages is required.
  • Photocopy of previous entry stamp to Greece (if available)
  • It is mandatory to put a wet signature at the bottom of the form. (Except Kos island for now!!!)
  • Turkish characters (ç, ğ, ı, ö, ş, ü, Ç, Ğ, İ, Ö, Ş, Ü) definitely won’t be used.
  • TURKEY will be written instead of Türkiye.
  • GREECE will be written instead of Greece.
  • TURKISH will be written in the citizenship section (there will be no TC - TR - Turkey - Turkish etc.)
  • The profession and/or job title will be written in English.
  • Those who are housewives by profession will write in English (housewife).
  • The right section on pages 1 and 2 of the form is not filled out.
  • Article 21: The travel purpose section must be marked TOURISTIC, others are not accepted.
  • Hotel reservation; Your check-in and check-out dates stated on your reservation must match the round-trip date of your ticket. Also, do not have a paid hotel reservation.

  • The shipment cost should covered by the sender. Reversed charged shipments are not accepted.
  • Documents submitted to our office or sent via cargo with missing documents or without the visa fee will be considered invalid and the visa application will not be accepted.
  • The door visa you have received is valid only for the island you have traveled to.
  • You cannot cross from island to island or from island to mainland.
